If your voting location has changed, you will receive a new voter identification card in the mail.

Refer to your voter identification card for your precinct number and you may access your precinct’s voting location online.  If you are not sure of your precinct number, go to the Secretary of State’s personalized voter information site.  After you enter your name, the site will display your voting location, and you may choose to see your ballot. You may also contact the Clerk’s office at 734-822-3120 for additional information or clarification.

You may register to vote at any of the following locations:

  • Pittsfield Township Clerk’s Office at 6201 W. Michigan Ave. , southwest of the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Platt Road.
  • Any Secretary of State branch
  • Washtenaw County Clerk’s Office, 200 N. Main at Ann St. in Ann Arbor, or visit any county clerk’s office.
  • Military recruitment centers
  • Department of Human Services, the Department of Community Health and the Department of Career Development, or the Commission for the Blind.

Registration Deadlines: If you are not currently registered, you must register 30 days prior to an election to be eligible to vote in that election.

Voter Registration: If you are not sure whether you are registered to vote in Pittsfield Township, you may access this information at the Secretary of State's personalized voter information site

If you would like to register by mail, you may download, print and mail a Michigan Voter Registration Application. If you register by mail, are a first time voter, and plan to vote absentee,   you will need to stop by the Clerks’ office before you vote absentee to have an official witness your signature.  If you register in person, you have the option of requesting an absentee ballot or voting on Election Day in the community you registered in. The key rule to remember is that the first time you vote, an official must have witnessed your signature to validate your registration to vote.

Updating Your Registration Name and Address:  If you move, change your name, or need to make a correction to your registration, you may update your voter registration in person or by mail. Michigan law requires that you use the same name and address for both your driver’s license and your voter registration, so if you change one, the data system will automatically change the other. You may update your voter registration by mail or at any of the locations listed above.

Absentee Voting: To vote by Absent Voter Ballot, you may print out an Absent Voter Ballot Application, mail or deliver it in person to the Clerk's Office at the Township Administration Building. Refer to the Ballot application instructions, phone 734-822-3120, or email clerk@pittsfield-mi.gov. You may request a single election ballot application or ask to be placed on the Permanent Absent Voter Application list. You must fill out an AV application before each election to receive an absentee ballot. To track your absentee application and your completed ballot through the election process, please go to the Secretary of State Voter Information Center and enter your voter information.

If you have already registered by mail and will not be available to vote in person on Election Day, visit the Clerk’s Office to have an election official witness your signature, so we can send you an absentee ballot.

New Voter Identification Requirement: Due to a recent court ruling, every Michigan voter who offers to vote in the polls must comply with the new requirement by showing picture identification or signing an affidavit attesting that he or she is not in possession of picture identification.

Voters without picture identification: Michigan election law anticipates that not all voters will have picture identification. Voters who do not bring picture identification to the polls or do not possess picture identification can still vote like any other voter by signing an affidavit.

Refer to your voter identification card for your precinct number and then click here to see your precinct’s voting location. If you are not sure of your precinct number, click here to go to the Secretary of State's personalized voter information site. After you enter your name, the site will display your voting location, and you can choose to see your ballot.

Feel free to contact the Clerk's Office at (734) 822-3120, to verify your precinct number and voting location.
