John W. Phillips

I would like to welcome you to the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety Home Page, and encourage you to contact us if we could assist in providing service. We are dedicated to providing professional and courteous police and fire services to our community, and believe our Internet site will contribute to that goal.

The mission of the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety is to "provide leadership, coordination, and delivery of law enforcement and fire services in order to preserve, protect and defend people and property while respecting the rights and dignity of all persons." We have been entrusted with duties and responsibilities to preserve, protect and defend people and property; and, with that public trust, we must exemplify the highest standards of conduct both on and off duty.

The Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety serves a population of approximately 30,000 residents in Washtenaw County, Michigan. Pittsfield was the first charter township in Washtenaw County and is a diverse community, encompassing 29 square miles of both urban and rural areas. On behalf of the Pittsfield Board of Trustees we hope you enjoy your visit to Pittsfield Township and thank you for visiting the Department of Public Safety Home Page. We look forward to hearing from you.
