New Detective Assigned
In September of 2007, the Pittsfield Township Police Department assigned Officer Pamela Hamilton as a Detective. The newest member of our Detective Bureau will be responsible for the investigation of criminal activity including all homicides, robberies, burglaries, assaults, larcenies, and financial crimes.
New Field Training Officer
In September of 2007, the Pittsfield Township Police Department assigned Officer Kristen Beard as a Field Training Officer (FTO). The newest member of our FTO Cadre will be responsible for background investigations of prospective employees as well as training new police officers.
New Officer Hired
New police officer Sherri Hirzel was sworn in on June 4, 2007.
New Accident Investigator
In April of 2007, the Pittsfield Township Police Department assigned Officer Kristen Beard as an Accident Investigator. The newest member of our Accident Investigations Cadre will be responsible with other members of the cadre for investigating serious motor vehicle accidents.
New K9 Officer
In April of 2007, the Pittsfield Township Police Department assigned Officer Patrick Gray to the K9 Officer position. Officer Gray will be training extensively with a new canine, Vango.
New Officer Hired
New police officer Aja Chung was sworn in on November 6, 2006.

On September 1, 2006, Recon, Pittsfield Township Police Department's first canine, retired after 7 years of superlative service to our community. Recon will enjoy his retirement in the care of his handler, Sergeant Henry Fusik. See Recon's tribute page here.
Retirement
On July 21, 2006, Lieutenant Donald O'Farrell retired from the Pittsfield Township Police Department after 27 years of service to our community.
Awards Ceremony
The Pittsfield Police Department will be hosting its annual Police Department Awards Ceremony. The purpose of the awards ceremony is to recognize outstanding achievements performed by police officers and citizens. Date and time are to be determined.
